Create a Journey

Journeys are the way to provide parcel and delivery services on Mailjour.

To create a Journey, follow these steps:

  • Go to Journeys section
  • Open the app menu
  • Tap on "Create New Journey"
  • Fill in the required information
    • Select Type of Journey: Select between Pivot or Trip type.
      • Pivot: A Journey that starts and ends at the same location. This type of Journey is ideal for providers who are willing to provide services in a specific area, within a certain radius.
      • Trip: A Journey that starts at one location and ends at another. This type of Journey is ideal for providers who are willing to travel between two geographical and usually distant locations.
    • Pivoting Point (for Pivot Journeys): The reference point of your Journey. Enter a valid address and then select one of the suggested addresses.
    • Origin and Destination (for Trip Journeys): The starting and ending points of your Journey. Enter valid addresses and then select one of the suggested addresses. You will also be able to draw the route you will take to help our matching engine find matching requests and within the defined maximum distance.
    • Radius of service: The maximum distance from the Pivoting Point where you are willing to provide services. Bear in mind that this distance is calculated linearly, not by road. This distance also applies to Journeys of type Trip, using the route you have drawn as a reference.
    • Start Date: The date when you are available to start providing services for this particular Journey.
    • End Date: The date when you are no longer available to provide services for this particular Journey.
    • Pickup and Delivery Process: Define where you will pick up and deliver the package. Also establish how you will respond to any problems in locating the sender or receiver.
    • Automatic Bidding: If enabled, our systems will automatically place bids on incoming service requests that match your Journey. If disabled, you'll have to manually place bids on matched service requests. You are required to provide a unit of distance and a price per unit.
    • Cargo Specifications: The type, amount, sizes and weight of the packages you are willing to transport.
    • Insurance and liability: Set how you will compensate your customers in case of damage or loss.
    • Specific Terms and Conditions: Any additional terms and conditions you want to add to your Journey. This information will be visible to the requester when they receive your bid.
    • Label/Name: A label or name for your Journey. This is only visible to you for identification purposes.
  • Accept the terms and conditions
  • Tap on "Post Journey"
tip

Journeys must always have a start and end date and time. If you don't want to create Journeys on a daily basis, you can create Journeys with a duration of several days. However, please note that you will receive Matches at any time and day within the time frame you have defined.

info

If you want to create Journeys with a recurring schedule (e.g. every Wednesday and Saturday), access the web application.

caution

Set your price wisely. All prices must be tax inclusive, and you must take our fees into account when calculating your service rate (fees are not included automatically, they are deduced from your price). If your bid is accepted, you will be required to provide the service for the price you have set. You will not be able to change the price after the bid has been accepted.

caution

If you are subscribed to the free plan, you can only have one Journey active at a time. If you are subscribed to the Pro plan or are in the trial period, you can have up to two active Journeys.

After creating the Journey, incoming service requests will be matched with your Journey, and you'll be able to place bids on them.

Parcels are only created when a bid is accepted by the requester and then confirmed by you.
