Pre-Authorizations
Payment methods are pre-authorized when the customer accepts a Bid, except for Bids automatically accepted by Commerce users, where no pre-authorization is done by default, unless you explicitly require it at the time of placing the Bid.
When a Pre-Authorization is made, the funds are put on hold on Customer's provided payment method, but not transferred to your Stripe® account. The funds will be transferred to your Stripe® account when you capture the payment.
You will be able to view pre-authorised payments in the Stripe® Dashboard, but please note that in compliance with our terms and conditions, it is strictly prohibited to capture any pre-authorised payments before the Parcel is marked as Delivered or if "pay in advance" is disabled.
Do not capture payments in Stripe (Dashboard or API) before the Parcel is delivered! Any payment initiated through the platform but captured externally will be automatically refunded, and you'll be liable for any fees incurred.
If you need to capture the payment before the Parcel is delivered, please ask your customer to enable "advance payment" in the Parcel. This will allow you to capture the payment at any time and no refund will be issued automatically.
